Maithili Sharann Gupta
National poet, Maithili Sharan Gupta was born in Chirgaon town located about 30 km from Jhansi towards the Kanpur road. His house looks like a haveli where memories of great poet are preserved. Many ancient stone antiquities are also displayed here. His Samadhi is also located in the town.
Maithili Sharan Gupta through his poetry, has made successful attempts to highlight that through the consciousness of resurrection, we can give India the past glories, provide impetus to India’s present and also infuse the dignity of Indianness in our society.
Maithili Sharan ji, through his poetry, inspired the life of Pratishti Marg, as the Nirvritti Marg made the Indian youth power an escapist in search of peace.
Maithilisharan Gupta ji, through his Hindi poetic compositions, has put the overall consciousness of social change and national awakening of the revival period in front of the public. Consequently, scholars have called him the best poet of modern thoughts while Mahatma Gandhi declared him as the national poet.
