A thyroid disorder is a medical condition impairing the function of the thyroid (the butterfly sitting in the neck). Thyroid disorders are the most common among all the endocrine diseases in India.
Hyperthyroidism
Thyrotoxicosis. Hyper metabolic clinical and biochemical state caused by excess production of thyroid hormones. Exposure of body tissues to excess of circulating free thyroid hormones.
Hypothyroidism
Most common functional disorder of the Thyroid gland. A hypo metabolic clinical condition which is caused by low levels of circulating thyroid hormones. The clinical onset of hypothyroidism depends on the age of onset
Symptoms of hypothyroidism.
Edematous body Weight gain,, Dark and dry skin, Swelling on face ,Bagginess under eye, Non pitting type of oedema, Atherosclerosis, Anemia ,Fatigue ,C,old intolerance ,Alopecia, Vitiligo, Menorrhagia ,Infertility. Delayed reflex, Gruff voice, Muscle cramps , Slow activity, Constipation, Aches and pains, Muscle stiffness, Goiter, Hypertension, Angina.

Treatment
Panchakarmam therapy can be adviced according to the condition of the rogi and dosha. In hypothyroidism mainly langana and Agni vardaka therapy can be given like udwarthanam , dhanyamala dhara ruksha vasti etc.
In hypertyrodism shastikashali pindaswedam, takradhara , Kashaya dhara, snehavasti etc
